Fox Sports, the digital media company founded by billionaire Rupert Murdoch, has announced a partnership with Nicks & Niles to broadcast the college football game between the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, with an all-access package on FoxSports.com.
The partnership will also include exclusive interviews with key players from both teams.
The announcement was made during a press conference with university President Mary Sue Bowers.
“This is a historic moment for the University and for our fans, and we are proud to announce a new partnership with Fox Sports to provide live coverage of the University-Oklahoma football game,” said OU President Mary Bowers, adding that the agreement will be “a key component in the College Football Playoff selection process.”
“We are excited about this partnership and look forward to sharing our passion for the game of college football with our fans and fans around the world.”
A few days earlier, Fox Sports announced a major media partnership with NBC Sports, which will air college football games at halftime of the College GameDay on NBC.
Fox Sports is the latest sports network to embrace the online world, and it will also begin airing college football broadcasts on its premium channel, FoxSportsgo, beginning in 2019.
It is also the second-largest sports network in the U.S., behind ESPN.
The College Football Playoffs were announced in June 2019, with the first three games to be played in 2019 and 2020.
